I have always been passionate about assisting others, which led me to begin running marathons for charity in 2001. However, it was not until our son Jack became severely ill in 2010 that I became
a Charity Ambassador for Great Ormond Street Hospital. This marked the beginning of my journey to participate in various races, including half marathons, full marathons, ultra marathons, Race for the
Kids, 5ks, 10ks, Fun Runs, and any other events that I could potentially undertake to contribute and give back.
Our story unfolded on Sunday, December 5, 2010, when our 10-year-old son, Jack, fell ill at home. He was promptly rushed to Chelsea & Westminster Hospital for life-saving treatment, where
he was under the care of Dr. Patel.
Life took a dramatic turn at that moment. Eventually, Jack stabilised enough to be transferred to Great Ormond Street Hospital, where he received the best possible care from Mr. Edward Kiely, a
surgeon who handled his treatment. Tragically, Jack was diagnosed with a rare form of endocrinogenic pancreatic cancer, leaving him in a state of dire need.
Great Ormond Street Hospital played a pivotal role in saving Jack’s life. Their unwavering dedication and expertise were instrumental in his recovery.
To ensure that Great Ormond Street Hospital continues to provide the necessary support, I urge you to make ongoing donations and participate in fundraising events whenever possible. Whether it’s
baking, running, cycling, walking, or swimming, every effort counts in making a difference.
I will continue to raise funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital with unwavering commitment. I am deeply grateful for their support and will never cease to express my gratitude.
